"Dog Time”

I was painting an outdoor mural featuring these fire hydrants at the Salesforce Transit Center in San Francisco, and met a person who had no idea what an old-timey fire hydrant looked like. In my mind, fire hydrants were red, and had a wary apprehension of dogs walking by.

It made me realize that what's stored in my brain is not what's stored in everyone's brain. That's ok.

Acrylic and spray paint reverse-painted on a commercial dryer door. I imagine it as a porthole looking into a different world.
