Assertive

Years ago, I went to university at BYU because it was expected of me--it was the only school acceptable to my parents. It was a difficult place to be. My circle of friends there all had to stay in the closet, and I could have been expelled at any time if the school ever found out I was gay. 

I'm happy to see that LGBTQ students at BYU these days are more assertive. Last night, LGBTQ students lit up the Y in rainbow colors:
