U.S.O. (Unidentified Submerged Object)
Collaboration with San Francisco gallery owner/photographer Misho. We selected examples of Misho's abstract photography, and I painted my robots on top.
"U.S.O. (Unidentified Submerged Object)"
The colors and textures in Misho's photo inspired me to create an underwater scene. One time at an exhibition, a young boy was very excited about my spaceships and U.F.O.'s, and started telling me what he REALLY liked though, was U.S.O.'s, which was a new concept to me. In this piece I painted my first U.S.O. with an underwater robot.
This piece started as Misho's photograph printed on paper, mounted to reclaimed plywood, then painted with acrylics and sealed with shiny epoxy resin. The piece floats off the wall about an inch, with wooden spacers on the back.
