Sophia

This is Sophia. Her name is of Greek origin, and means "wisdom." My intention is to show her advocating STEM disciplines—science, technology, engineering and math. This piece contains a vintage Pickett slide rule that my dad used in his engineering career.

Robot Sophia is reverse painted on the glass with acrylic and spray paint. The atomic symbol is painted on plywood behind the glass. The background squares are painted vintage floppy disks. This is a reclaimed window from San Francisco.

Size is approximately 24 x 14 x 1.5 inches.
