Here We are to Go (Part 3 of 4)
I created 4 pieces for the series, "Here We are to Go." Each painting is reverse painted in acrylic and aerosol paint on a vintage window from a San Francisco Edwardian house just around the corner from where I live. I was walking by, and noticed workers replacing all the old single-pane windows on the facade. They said the windows were destined for the dump, so they'd be glad for me to take them if I wanted.
This series features my characters against the bubble background I've been fascinated with painting lately. I start with a circle of yellow orbs, and then spiral other colored orbs around them. For me, it's a way to create movement and add color. I place my robots to look like they are standing on the mullions of the window, and I leave it to your imagination to create a story for the scene.
I love painting on glass because the shiny surface adds depth to colors behind it, but this is a large piece of glass not well suited for shipping. This painting is for local pickup in San Francisco only.
Size is approximately 37.5 x 30 x 2 inches.
Here We are to Go (3 of 4) features Cotton Candy Girl and Duckboy.
