I created my piece, "We Are All Together" in the aftermath of the presidential election, when I was feeling especially distraught. I have thought about creating protest art, political art, and resistance art, but it really isn't in me to do art that is negative, and I feel like there is so much negative energy right now. The title is hopeful--what we do affects us all, we can change things, we can make things better, and we need to help each other.
I was honored to learn that Art for AIDs selected my piece as the "Gold Star Prize" for the event happening Oct 20th at the Metreon in San Francisco. I'll be there!
