It has been over a year since we were part of a multi-artist 38-mural project coordinated between ArtSpan and the Salesforce Transit Center in San Francisco. I was given a street level space (see a video in another post) for one mural, and then six months later I was invited by the Transit Center to paint a second mural upstairs by the Greyhound Station. Today both murals came down!
Once the spaces were leased and occupied, the Transit Center Team said we could take down the murals ourselves if we wanted. Philz Coffee is opening a store in the ground floor space soon, and Fitness SF is opening a new location upstairs, and they were ready for us now.
We had painted on a plastic film that peels off, and it was fairly easy to do.
Downstairs, I'm peeling off a Double-Robot panel.
Upstairs, Bench is peeling off more...
We saved the individual panels, and will be looking for ways to offer them to collectors of my art. Stay tuned!
Thanks again to Artspan and the Salesforce Transit Center. It has been a pleasure working together, and we were so happy to be part of this project.
