This week I'm delivering artwork for a 2020 exhibition at China Basin in San Francisco!
I call this series "Dynamite." Inspired by the concept of Dynamism--the quality of being characterized by vigorous activity and progress, these pieces are segments of a 43-foot mural that hung at the Salesforce Transit Terminal in San Francisco.
I selected vignettes, transferred them onto wooden panels, and augmented with additional elements to capture the feeling of the original full mural. Everything is in motion!
Large panels measure 5 feet x 4 feet x 2 inches deep.
Smaller panels are 16 inches high x 5 feet or 6 feet wide.
I'll also have on display 3 pieces from my "Hero's Journey" series. I made my Double Robot character a hero, leaving his familiar world behind to pursue a quest. Along the way, he meets challenges, but seems to be in control before everything falls apart.
.
The Hero's Journey pieces are painted on plywood behind reclaimed windows, with additional elements reverse-painted on the glass. Paintings measure 55 inches high x 29 inches wide.
I'm so happy to once again have the opportunity to show my work at China Basin, and will post more info soon!
