Friday, August 3rd Reception, City Art Gallery

Please join me Friday, August 3rd at City Art Gallery to see my latest work.

“Twinners” and “The Upside Down” were inspired by a happy accident. I reverse-painted my robots onto the back side of the glass of the first piece, and only afterwards realized the window was upside down.

I was reading Stephen King’s novel The Talisman at the time, which involves traveling to an alternate universe full of “Twinners,” so it occurred to me I could paint a set of right-side up twins on the back panel.

The title for "The Upside Down" comes from the alternate world in Stranger Things.

Changing light conditions create interesting shadows between the two layers in both pieces.
