Art & VR: A Virtual Reality Art Salon
Join me for an evening of inspiring artwork and cutting-edge virtual reality experiences! Marina Berlin has put together an Art and Virtual Reality event showcasing local artists along with VR and Augmented Reality at Upload Collective, a virtual reality incubator and event space.
Come on in and you'll see tech-related art, and get to try out some of the latest cool VR and AR. I'll be showing some of my retro-future pieces combining obsolete floppy disks and reclaimed windows. There will be cool artwork from other Bay Area artists Jihoon Choi, Gillian Keller, and Jasper Thomas, and a live performance from Jasper Patterson.
I'm glad to be there. Marina asked if I'd be open to speaking at the event and I said yes! It will give me a chance to think about why I do what I do and about my transition from tech to art. I was a "rocket scientist" in Silicon Valley for many years using CAD equipment to design things for satelites and outer space until I left that to do art full time. I think that influences my subjects today.
